How to wear jewelry for men

Jewelry has been ingrained in human societies for a long time and is part of several religions and cultures. Nowadays, it is mostly used to improve our appearance as jewelry can elevate a basic outfit and make you look like a million bucks, however, a lot of people tend to make the same mistakes. In this article, we'll highlight how to wear jewelry for men.

  1. Keep it simple.

  2. Do not mix colors. (unless you know what you are doing)

  3. Wear the right size.

    1. Keep it simple.

We've all seen someone wearing half of America's gold reserve around their neck and it frankly looks horrible. If you are just starting out, wear a few minimalist pieces to figure out what style you like.

Wear one or two chains, but nothing more. You do not need to have rings on all fingers and very few people look good while doing so. Wear a maximum of three rings for each hand. A simple chain, bracelet, watch and a few rings will go a long way.

2. Do not mix colors.

The second tip regarding how to wear jewelry for men has a caveat. Unless you know what you are doing, do not mix metals/colors. You will look like a mess if your pieces do not flow together. Wear one color at a time.

To know what color you should wear, you should first determine your skin tone. If you have a warmer skin tone, then gold/copper jewelry will suit you best and if you have a cooler skin tone, silver jewelry will enhance your appearance.

3. Wear the right size.

This ties in with the first tip. Your jewelry pieces should be a subtle part of your style and should not overpower you. But there is no set size that I can give you for jewelry because it all depends on the wearer. A watch that fits a man weighing 50kg will look like a children's watch if a 100kg man wears it. You should experiment with jewelry size but always get honest second opinions to know if you look good with a certain piece.
